Website Care Plan FAQ

How many website changes can be done in 30 minutes?

30 minutes of changes is enough time to do about 3 to 5 small changes per month.

Examples of one small change include:

  • Uploading and formatting a blog post
  • Adding a new client testimonial
  • Adding or tweaking copy on a page
  • Swapping out an image

So, 30 minutes gives us enough development time to make 3 to 5 of the above changes, or any other small changes you might need, per month. When in doubt if a change request would fall into this care plan time allotment, just ask!

What are "Real-time backups"?

Real-time backups are continuous backups that happen immediately after any changes are detected on the site.

This type of backup saves your websites data in real-time. For membership or high-volume websites, the real-time backups feature ensures every change and every new member is backed up as it happens. This ensures that new users are never lost.

How do "Unlimited Small Changes" work?

Good question.

Unlimited small changes do include edits to content on any page, including adding testimonials, making style adjustments, uploading blog content, or adding new scheduling pages.

Unlimited small changes do not include advanced or custom features like creating a membership portal, designing a sales page, creation of content, or graphic design requests.

Unlimited really does mean unlimited!

You simply send an email to support [at] jennielakenan [dot] com with clear instructions on the content you want changed on your website. Me and my team will get straight to work and let you know when it’s done, usually within a business day.

Here are some change requests that would be included and not included:

CHANGE EXAMPLE 1

Included: You want us to upload a blog post that you wrote, with images you have sourced, and upload it to your site on a specified day.
Not included: You want us to write your blog post, find the images to go with it, and upload it to your site without any formatting or scheduling instructions.

CHANGE EXAMPLE 2

Included: You want us to add a new video to your membership site section and update the content around it to match the video subject.
Not included: You want us to format the raw video content, upload it to your Vimeo, and write the content that will accompany it.

CHANGE EXAMPLE 3

Included: You want us to take the text you’ve emailed and use it to replace the current content on your Work With Me page.
Not included: You want us to write content for or design your Work With Me page.

I’m happy to help you with tasks that fall outside these small changes. They’ll just need a more formal proposal process. You can start that process by shooting me the details via my Inquiry Page and we’ll set up a call to chat about your needs.

What if I need something not included on a plan?

If you need something that’s not included in your plan, I’m happy to help. We can quote it out as a small project outside of your care plan.

However, we’re only able to do adhoc work like this for clients on a plan. Go ahead and schedule a call here and we’ll get you signed up for a plan, and I can also quote out your needs as a small project once you’re onboarded.

If you need additional services on a routine basis (for example, scheduling and sending out emails to your list) we can also chat about a custom add-on to your plan that will fit that need.

What happens if my website goes down (is hacked, breaks, etc)?

The whole purpose of my care plans is to prevent this, so I’ll work hard to prevent anything from happening.

However, in the case something does happen and your website needs emergency care, I’ll be there right by your side communicating with the web hosting company on your behalf.

I can’t promise your website will not be hacked. But I CAN promise I’ll do everything in my power to prevent it. And I’ll help with the restoration and cleanup of the website with one of my backups.

How do strategy calls work?

Email is an amazing form of communication, and often yields the fastest response time for our working relationship.

But I know that sometimes you get stuck with the strategy of your digital marketing and website. That’s why I offer a strategy call as part of my care plan options.

On this call, which is scheduled at your request, I will help you get unstuck and provide input on how we can make sure your website is aligned to help you reach your business and income goals.

How does billing work?

Your Credit Card or PayPal account will be charged automatically at the start of each month. Once payment is complete I send you a receipt PDF directly to your email.

Do you offer web hosting?

At this point, I do not. I prefer to leave that to the experts and work alongside them to give you a remarkable experience.

I do have a specific host I prefer to work with because I’ve seen excellent results with them. That host is Siteground. You can read more about why I prefer them here.

If you want to move your website to a new host, I offer a migration and tune-up for a one-time fee of $500. You can send me a contact message on my site to request a tune-up here.

Can I really cancel at any time?

Absolutely.

I’m all about building a valuable relationship with you and your website, so I’d hate to see you go. But I know financial needs weigh in on many decisions and I don’t want to lock anyone in.

You can request a cancellation via email to jennie@jennielakenan.com, and I will immediately stop the next payment.

Can I upgrade or downgrade my care plan based on my workload?

Certainly, you can do that. There’s just a $35 admin fee to downgrade your plan, as me and my team have to update our records internally anytime there’s a care plan change. We eat that fee if you upgrade your plan.

You didn't build my website. Can I still be on a website care plan?

Although these plans are designed for sites that were built by me and my team, we welcome clients who are looking for a long term web partner to care for their site. What we’ll do first is a Website Tune-up so we can get familiar with your website and fix any issues. A Website Tune-up includes:

  • A thorough review of the backend of your website
  • A list of actionable insights into your site’s current design, security, performance, and its ability to convert
  • Two hours of time fixing initial issues and requests you choose from the insights I send

A Website Tune-up is a flat $500 fee. After that, we can get your site onboarded onto a care plan. Again, this is applicable only to websites not built by me and my team.
